Happy Monday!

Last week I headed to happy hour with my girlfriends and wore this cute and comfy little sweatshirt dress. I love the jeweled front, this dress would be perfect for a casual Thanksgiving. This large wristlet picked up the burgundy color from the jewels so I grabbed it and was ready to go!

Monday night I headed to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon for a party and meet and greet with my favorite author, Sophie Kinsella! She writes the Shopaholic series that I’ve been loving since college.

Sophie was so gracious, taking time with every person there, and I got a signed copy of her new book in the series, Shopaholic to the Stars. I’m only through the beginning, but it is fabulous!

I wore my striped, sort of 60’s mod sweater dress, leggings, and burgundy booties to add a little color. I topped with my trusty quilted leather jacket, which is still going strong after 3 years!

Headed to happy hour with a few girlfriends last week and took advantage of the nice weather to wear my new white vest out. Paired with black jeans and added a hot pink necklace for a pop of color and my polka dot purse to add some pattern. Just like Stacy and Clinton say – color, texure, pattern, shine! Oh how I miss What Not to Wear…

Happy Friday!!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend! (Those of you in the US anyway) We had a fabulous time with my cousin and her boyfriend, and got to do lots of touristy things like a carriage ride in Central Park – so beautiful! Can’t wait for the Rockefeller Center tree lighting tonight so we can go see that lit up this weekend.

Tis’ the season for holiday parties now and the eternal question, what to wear? I spent last night putting together some outfits for dressier events, and then tomorrow or Thursday I will have Part 2 showcasing more casual holiday outfits. So excited that we finally have room for a tree this year, and it made the perfect festive background for these. I’m also pretty stoked I found the polka dot tree skirt at Marshall’s for $20 – it was just waiting there for me!

This first outfit is my favorite, perhaps because of the polka dots? I plan on wearing this to my sorority alumni holiday party next week. So fun and festive I think.

A fancy sweater dress is always great to have on hand for the holidays. Perfect for chilly nights and would work well for an office holiday party. I plan on wearing this to see a Christmas concert at Carnegie Hall.

Dress – Michael Kors via Marshall’s (get it here on sale!), Shoes – Audrey Brooke via DSW (similar), Tights – Commando, Clutch – Ann Taylor (similar)

I love figuring out new ways to wear my versatile black romper, and it is easy to dress up with a white tuxedo blazer, sparkly necklace, and red heels. I would wear this to a show or a night out to dinner around the holidays.

And finally something a little different – dressy shorts! Perhaps this should have gone in the more casual bracket, but we’ll go with it here. I think this would be a fun outfit for a holiday party at someone’s home, or just a fun night out. Not sure if I’m keeping these shorts, I have this pair from the Loft on the way and I will pick which I like best.

What is your favorite holiday outfit to wear?

Happy Hump Day!

We made it to the weekend finally! Wednesday I headed downtown to work with my friend, Ashley, and I took advantage of the cooler but sunny day to transition my romper into fall. It isn’t cold enough for tights yet, but I will be adding those once we get further into the season. For now I just paired with a blazer, black booties, and a statement necklace.

Anyone else wearing their rompers into the cooler season?

Happy Friday!

Our temperatures dipped to the low 60’s on Tuesday with a little bit of wind so it is starting to feel like fall around here! Although we are back to the high 70’s today, looks like we are headed back to the 60’s for the rest of the week. September weather is always a little bit all over the place.

I took advantage of the cooler temps to pull out my new booties – I love them! If you are still looking for a pair, give these a shot, I recommend going up a half size. This caramel color is a great neutral to work with so many outfits. I was also very excited to find these Old Navy ankle pants that I love in a rich burgundy color. They are such a great fabric that really holds it’s shape while being comfortable.

Thanks for stopping by !

Friday night we headed out to dinner with some good friends to a great new Tom Douglas restaurant here in downtown. It was a nice warm evening and I wanted to wear some bright colors so reached for my cobalt pleated mini skirt and paired with a simple citron tank. I finished it off with layered necklaces and my comfy gold platform shoes – love these!

Last week we spent a beautiful afternoon on a patio for happy hour and enjoying a wine tasting event at our local Pan Pacific hotel. It was actually so hot we had to go inside to enjoy some air conditioning! I love the combo of orange and navy so put this outfit together, and just added some gold jewelry and neutral accessories to finish it off.

Don’t forget the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts today, be sure to check out my picks! I’ve added a few new ones.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday!
