Can’t believe the weekend is almost here! We have a busy one ahead! 5 friends from Seattle are coming out and staying with us to attend the Sounders game on Saturday. Our friends Jed and Lorena are bringing their baby, Emma, along too and I can’t wait to meet her!
This past Saturday night we headed out with friends in Manhattan, and it was a rainy and cooler night so I decided to go with an all black palate to show off a statement necklace. I absolutely love this necklace from Bauble Bar, a super easy way to jazz up your basics. This was the first time I’ve purchased from Bauble Bar and I was very impressed. Last night we headed out in the West Village with my in-laws for dinner, one of my favorite areas of the city. It is starting to cool off here, and I find leather or faux leather to be perfect for summer to fall transitional wear. I added an extra pop of color to the teal and cream palate with my purple purse.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Almost to the weekend, yay!
Put this outfit together to run errands and meet Michael for dinner. I used to be scared to pair black with yellow to avoid the “bumble bee” effect, but I really like the combo now when done right – I think adding a print helps make it work.
Don’t forget the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to all today – check out my picks!

It is rainy here, but I don’t care because tomorrow I head to Austin! We our having our annual Girl’s Trip there and I am soooo excited. These pale legs need a little sun!
Fortunately this past Saturday it was warm enough for me to break out this fun yellow dress for our Chi Omega sorority founder’s day celebration. We call it Eleusinia and thanks to one of our awesome alumnae members, we get to have it at The Met! So beautiful. Plus yellow is one of our colors so it was the perfect choice.
I must say, I never actually think I look better in something than the model, but I think the model on the Zara site looks terrible in this dress! I never would have ordered it seeing it on her, it just hangs there… Anywho, glad I tried it on in store because I just love the sunny color and the fact that I can dress it up with heels or down with wedges and a denim jacket.
I decided to style it this time with touches of black and white which I think is kind of fun and different with the yellow – and of course I had to add some dots!
See you all next week, have a fabulous weekend!

Yay, it’s Friday!!
I wore this outfit out yesterday, so excited to finally be able to wear something other than boots. I did have to cover up with a light wool coat still, but I will take what I can get. I’ve seen a number of cute lace tops popping up lately, and I managed to get this one on sale at Loft (you can too, it is 50% off now!). I decided to add some distressed jeans for contrast and then pink shoes and bag for a pop of color. Are you wearing lace this season?
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Sunday night I was very excited to be able to meet up with one of my very best friends from high school, Kristin, for a girl’s night out. She was in town for work, and one of the best things about living here is all the people who pass through.
I will admit that my usually colorful self has been much more drawn to neutrals since I moved here…. It was a bit of a warmer day so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to take my new black and white shoes for a spin and I ended up planning my outfit around those.
Does anyone else have a hard time finding layering tunics? Something you can wear with skinnies or leggings but layer blazers and cardigans over? Well I finally came across some tunic tanks that are awesome, and a steal at $13.95. I took a small in these. Have I also mentioned how awesome Hue leggings are? Get some, you will thank me.

Alright, we made it through Tuesday! And the sun decided to make an appearance after a downpour earlier today so that has put a smile on my face. I also came home to lamb shoulder roasting in the Crockpot and it is beyond amazing. I’m planning on whipping up some apple & bacon brussels sprouts to go with it – dinner is going to be amazing! I’ll have those recipes to share in the next few days.
As we move into Spring, while it still feels like Winter, I’ve been feeling less than inspired. So it was off to Pinterest to find some help. I pinned this pic awhile back, but it didn’t have a link so I unfortunately can’t give credit to the blogger.
So how did I decide to interpret this? Well, I started with my navy and coral striped sweater, and then instead of doing a contrasting scarf, decided to add a coral one that matched the sweater, and then decided to keep things a bit 2 tone by adding my navy skinny pants and nude shoes. Can definitely see following this formula again with my navy and white striped sweater or black and white striped t-shirt. Next time maybe I will try wrapping my scarf like the picture above as well.
