Fashion, Fun, & a little Food

We had a beautiful day here last week and my hubby came home just in time to take some pictures before I headed out to meet my friend Alice for cocktails in the West Village.

I took advantage of the warmth to break out some bare legs, and threw my must have trench over this look for when the sun went down.

This striped dress is perfect on its own or with some added layers – and it’s such a great deal!

Thanks for stopping by!

As fall is fast approaching I’m pulling out all my summery florals and shoes. Wore this outfit to work from a coffee shop and run a few errands, a silky blouse and jeans with fun shoes is always an easy outfit formula.

This week has been a bit crazy packing for Paris! We leave Friday and I’m so excited. Michael and I are headed there with my in-laws, and then will spend our last weekend in Champagne on our own. This will be my last post as I get all my errands done and work wrapped up before we leave. I will be back just after Labor Day with lots of fun pictures to share!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Today I’m joining a number of lovely ladies showing “How I wear my: White” hosted by Rich Life on a Budget and Everything Just So.

I wore this all white outfit to dinner and drinks with friends last Friday night. Pairing different textures is an easy way to make this kind of look work, then I just added some ankle strap sandals and citrus colored accessories for a little punch. I’m also obsessed with this gorgeous Kendra Scott necklace my husband gave me for my birthday – I wear it with just about everything!

Happy Hump Day!

Headed out to the financial district to meet a friend for drinks in this outfit last week, I’m loving all the ways to remix this white vest!

I’m working in Newark this week, helping my boss out with some stuff. Kind of nice to have some co-workers around for once, but I’m ready to get back to the city tomorrow for sure!

Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start!

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a great cropped spring/summer sweater at the right price for awhile now, and was excited to come across this H&M number in one of my favorite colors. It has been all about yellow for me this season!

I love a crop top as a layer, just added this to an all white base and then complemented with this blue seashell bag. I wore this to a party Michael’s hair salon was having followed by dinner in Soho – I just love it there.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had 2 days of gorgeous weather following a rainy Friday and took full advantage.

Saturday started off at brunch with my sorority alumnae group which is always fun, and then Saturday night we headed to a little jazz club for a double date with our friends’, Jim and Elizabeth. I was very excited for the opportunity to break out my new black jumpsuit. I had been on the hunt for one and when I ran into this little number at Banana Republic Factory I knew I had finally found it. Relaxed but not baggy and the fit was great. Added my black and white pumps and polka dot bag to add a little visual interest to the all black.

Sunday we headed to Cobble Hill in Brooklyn to wander around and get some lunch, and then I met a few friends for a last minute happy hour in the West Village. They have some many nice patios to enjoy the sun on there! I picked up this sundress in Austin at the BCBG outlet and dressed it down with a white denim jacket and hot pink flat sandals.

Happy Monday!

How was everyone’s weekend? Seems so far away now that it is Tuesday…

Yesterday I headed with some girlfriends to dinner for Seattle Restaurant Week, $28 for a delicious 3 course meal, can’t beat that. I was tight on time to get ready and this outfit that Rach at Pink Peonies had on her blog stuck in my head as good inspiration. I’m still a little scared to do denim on denim, so I paired my navy skinnies with a chambray top, and then added my neon pumps and a chunky necklace for some pizzazz. Thanks to my friend Savannah for taking a picture for me!

Here is another outfit I wore out with friends for a casual night, a white tee and jeans are the perfect basics to jazz up with an infiniti scarf, studded shoes, and a bright bag.

What is your go-to casual outfit?

Happy Hump Day! Hope you are enjoying this short work week.

Last night Michael and I headed over to our friend’s Vinny and Leslie’s for a fun evening of dinner and games, so I decided to wear my new zebra print Loft skirt while it was still warm enough to do so without tights. Too soon those days will be over…

I wasn’t sure if we would be inside or outside, so I went with a sleeveless top and then layered over that with my favorite mustard cardigan. This really is going to be a versatile skirt, definitely looking forward to mixing it up with sweaters and boots as well. It is currently on sale for a great deal and in case you are wondering about sizing, I am usually a 2 or 4 at Loft, and went with the 2 in this.

(PS. I’m participating today in Rich Life on a Budget’s How I Wear My: Secondhand item – go check it out!)
