Fashion, Fun, & a little Food

I’ve been slacking on the outfit pictures lately but I wore this a few weeks back, on an unusually warm night, to have dinner with our friends that were in town from Seattle. We went to this adorable place called Rosemary’s in the West Village that is one of my favorite spots.

A blazer was all the layering I needed so I paired this navy blazer with gold buttons over an orange blouse – one of my favorite color combos!

Happy Friday, hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Friday! So glad the weekend is here!

I spent some time yesterday putting together some more casual holiday outfits, now I just need some events to wear them to! I’m missing my Seattle friends a lot right now, a little sad I won’t get to do any holiday partying with them. But we do have some fun things planned to look forward to so trying to focus on that.

I ordered these red satin pants on whim, thinking they probably wouldn’t fit, but I slipped them on and fell in love! Just like wearing pajamas, but so much chicer : ) I paired with a cozy cashmere sweater and like how the different textures mix. This outfit would be great for a lot of things – a holiday concert, dinner out, or a casual cocktail party.

These pants are so versatile, I put together a 2nd outfit using them and it may be my favorite of the bunch! A fun graphic tee keeps things casual, a blazer adds structure, and a sparkly necklace finishes it off. I think I will wear this when I go out with a friend and her girlfriends next week.

Red, winter white, and emerald, are all fabulous colors and very festive, but why not mix things up with some blues for the season. And paired with white you get a light and bright outfit to stand out in the crowd. I decided to pair a mint sweater that has sparkly sleeves, with my white jeans, and royal blue accents for something a little different. I wore this out with Michael’s co-worker’s for drinks last night.

This outfit is a little bit edgier, and one I would wear any time during the winter! I added a brooch to make it more festive and think it adds some fun contrast.

And finally an outfit with red jeans, a comfy winter white sweater, dressed up with sparkly shoes. Perfect for a casual holiday party.  I think I’m going to wear this to Michael’s office holiday party tonight –  there is going to be karaoke!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend doing something fun! : )

Yes, I already went back to Seattle for a visit. I had to go back and see the Michael Buble concert – it was amazing and well worth the long trip. That and I got to see my friends of course!

Friday night was the concert and we had to stock up on wine so we didn’t have to miss any of the show refilling our glasses obviously. Michael Buble concerts are kind of funny because getting the crowd to stand up is a bit of a challenge…

But eventually people did! I freaking love Michael Buble, he is such a great performer and so funny. Hope I get to see him at Madison Square Garden sometime in the future…

Saturday my girlfriends and I had a girl’s night out, always a good time, I miss them!

I wore this cute leopard tank I picked up at Nordstrom Rack awhile back and then added this little cropped sweater to stay a little warmer. Shorter sweaters are great to add a little shape to a more voluminous top. I finished things off with my Sole Society studded pumps that I love, they are seriously so comfortable. Sorry for the bad picture, I left my regular camera at home!

I will be back tomorrow with my comfy boot picks for those of you fellow city dwellers, or just those who like to have happy feet!

I’m back! Sorry for the lack of blogging while away, we kept pretty busy! I have a nice long post today to make up for it : )

My presentation in Chicago went well, and I got to see one of my best friend’s from high school and a sorority sister while I was there, so it was nice to be able to mix business with pleasure.

I headed to LA Wednesday night and got to spend the next day at Disneyland with my mom and uncle. So much fun! Here I am at the new Carsland which had some fun new rides.

Last Saturday night we had my Dad’s 60th birthday party and I wore an outfit you’ve seen before, but it is one of my favorites!

Here I am with Michael, my Dad, my Dad’s wife, and my brother, Seth.

Monday we headed to Boston, one of my very favorite cities, and we were treated to gorgeous weather!

Jeans – J Brand, Sweater – Frenchi, Scarf – Ann Taylor (similar), Jacket – Hinge (similar), Boots – Halogen (similar)

Thursday night we headed to dinner at Scampo for one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Plus everyone in Boston dresses so nicely to go out so it was fun style watching : )

I wore the leopard print dress I picked up at Target recently, although as soon as I pick up a black skinny belt I will wear with that instead of the self belt it came with.

Dress – Merona, Boots – Corso Como, Tights – Commando, Jacket – Hinge

From Boston we headed to New York to visit my in-laws, and Friday night was my brother in law’s 30th birthday party, it was a blast! I wore a new sweater dress that I absolutely love thanks to the colorblocking on the sides that is very slimming.

Here I am with my sister and mother in law. My sister-in-law’s dress is out of my budget, but isn’t it gorgeous?! It is Intermix and you can get it here.

A 6 hour flight yesterday and we finally made it home safely to our kitties! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was full of fun birthday parties.

Friday night we headed to Belltown Pub for our friend’s Dan and Kelley’s birthday party. For the casual affair I wore my favorite skinny jeans, a blouse I picked up at Marshall’s for $12 and then added my leopard pumps because they make every outfit more fun! It was also cool enough to pull out the leather jacket I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I can’t wait to wear it again!

Jeans – J Brand, Blouse – Marshall’s, Jacket – Hinge (different color here on sale, similar in faux leather here), Shoes – Max Studio

Tomorrow I’m headed on a whirlwind trip all over the country. I fly to Chicago tomorrow for a presentation on Wednesday, then Wednesday night I head to LA to visit my Mom. Thursday we are going to Disneyland (yippee!), then Friday Michael is joining me in California for my Dad’s 60th birthday on Saturday. Monday we fly to Boston where he is doing some recruiting at his college, and after spending the week there, that Friday we drive to New York to visit Michael’s family before flying home Sunday. Whew! That’s a lot of travel! And it is a little unclear right now if my suitcase is going to close much less weigh in under 50 pounds… wish me luck!

I will try to do some blogging while on the trip, but if not I will have a whole lot to share once I am home on the 21st!
