Happy Friday everyone!

We had a wonderful weekend in Seattle and our first day there was gorgeous! The wedding was beautiful and it was so nice to catch up with friends and family.

Michael and I headed down to Pike Place Market for some brunch and to enjoy the weather on Thursday. I wore these cute patterned soft pants, they are so comfortable!

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Gah, could it snow anymore?! Seriously it is March and I’m over it. So I’m having fun with some of my new spring items and am planning on featuring winter to spring transition outfits over the next few weeks.

Windowpane prints have been all the rage lately, and I was so excited to get these pants in the mail. I love the Old Navy pixie pants and these were no exception. So many ways to wear a fun black and white print! Plus these are on sale for $25 and an additional 20% off of that through tomorrow. Get yours now! I also picked up the black and white polka dot and red polka dot and can’t wait to play around with those too.

What do you think, would you wear these pants?

Headed out to happy hour with some girlfriends and I wanted to get a little dressed up! It is a gorgeous day out, over 70 degrees, perfect to take this skirt for a spin with bare legs.

I came across this little retro crop top at H&M and fell in love – plan to also wear it with my black fluid pants. I’ve had these shoes less than a month and already had to have the heels replaced – they are so comfortable! (and only $30!)

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start!

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a great cropped spring/summer sweater at the right price for awhile now, and was excited to come across this H&M number in one of my favorite colors. It has been all about yellow for me this season!

I love a crop top as a layer, just added this to an all white base and then complemented with this blue seashell bag. I wore this to a party Michael’s hair salon was having followed by dinner in Soho – I just love it there.

Thanks for stopping by!

Can’t believe Wednesday is here already!

Sunday we headed out for brunch and a Sunday Funday with some friends of ours and had a great time. We braved the freezing temps and I can assure that I am way over winter. Spring better be coming early!

I saw this bright sweater at H&M and couldn’t resist. The perfect way to shake up my winter wardrobe.

Last night for dinner I made this delicious recipe for Spicy & Sticky Coconut Honey Chicken. Honestly, one of the best things I’ve ever made, so so good. Juli’s receips are just awesome. I used a little arrowroot powder instead of tapioca starch and it worked great.

Happy Hump Day! Stay warm out there.

Tonight Michael and I are headed to see Book of Mormon and I am so excited, it is supposed to be a hilarious musical. I’m also participating in Marionberry Style’s Trend of the Month link up tomorrow, where everyone will be showing off how they wear stripes. So it gave me the inspiration to put together a theater appropriate outfit that incorporated this fun pattern.

I decided to do one of my longer black skirts with my black and white striped long sleeved tee, and then glam it up with a sparkly necklace and my tall black boots. A little pattern mixing with my polka dot purse seemed like a good idea too. I feel a little bit “glam Ralph Lauren” I think : )

Be sure to visit Marion’s site tomorrow to check out how all the talented bloggers wear their stripes!

Well I’m back after an amazing vacation in Austin with my incredibly fun girlfriends! Post on that to come once they get me some pics, because I only took a few of my own.

Today is back to reality, working from home and unpacking, but I must say it is a beautiful Seattle day to come back to at least – a high of 70! Plus I’m always happy to be back with my hubby and kitties.

I had to venture out to the grocery store, of course, and decided the nice weather, and my new tan, deserved a sundress. I picked this dress up at H&M not too long ago for $18, it is the same dress as the one seen here, just a different print. Yes, I am a duplicate buyer, I just can’t help myself sometimes. I added a short sleeve cardi for an extra layer, comfy brown wedges, and gold jewelry. Looking forward to mixing this dress up with a belt next time and/or adding some pops of color.

Happy Monday!

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend. My job currently has me working away from home for awhile, and it is a bit more time intensive, so just a heads up that for probably the next month or so my goal is going to be to blog at least 3 times a week instead of everyday. I want this to be something I look forward to doing and I think that will help me keep it that way. Thanks for hanging in there with me while my new schedule works it’s way out!

Friday night I went to see the Hunger Games, and while it wasn’t bad, I also didn’t like having to see people kill each other, I am a big baby like that. Fortunately my friend Sam was there to hold my hand… Oh, but then I do love Dexter. But he only kills bad guys, not innocent teenagers. Let’s just say it certainly wasn’t boring, but I don’t think I could watch it again! I’ve been told I need to read the books to understand it better, so maybe I will, they do get rave reviews. Enough about the movie, let’s get onto what I wore to it : ) I wanted to be comfortable of course so I started with my nicely stretchy navy blue skinny pants, and then paired with this fun printed top that was one of my Old Navy bargain picks from awhile back. I love the fit of it, floaty but not too boxy. It is on sale now for $22! It was sunny out and I had a pedicure not that long ago, so I decided to break out a pair of pink peep toes, because navy and pink is one of my favorite combos.

Today I decided that despite the not very nice forecast, I was going to make a warm weather dress work for the cold weather. You can pick this dress up in stores now at H&M for just $18, and it is a simple tank dress that I think would be flattering on many figures. It comes in a number of prints too. Today I warmed it up with nude fishnets, my trusty brown suede boots, and a simple cardigan, but I look forward to wearing on summer days dressed up with nude heels and a belt, or casual with flat sandals.

Stay tuned later this week for my Curried Beef with Sweet Potatoes recipe that I learned in my Primal cooking class – very tasty!!

I must say one of the best things about 3 day weekends is the 4 day work week that follows, Happy Friday!

Very excited we will finally be getting our new couch delivered tomorrow, so I will be sure to take some decor pictures to share with you on Monday, and then Sunday I’m looking forward to doing pretty much nothing except maybe trying to make a primalized version of  chicken francesca. Last night Michael and I were watching one of our favorite shows “Restaurant Impossible” and Chef Robert Irvine made a delicious looking chicken francesca. Michael then notifies me that this is one of his favorite Italian dishes. How has he not told me this before? We’ve never had this back in New York with his big Italian family either. Challenge accepted. I’m thinking I’ll serve it over zucchini “pasta”. It is also the Oscar’s on Sunday night, so I may have to check out the red carpet gowns, always fun to see what everyone is wearing!

Today I’m wearing a sweater I picked up at H&M for just $15 on my Monday shopping trip. It is really well made, even the stripes line up, so it was definitely worth the money. Paired it with a floaty white blouse and skinny jeans, and then added a gorgeous gold and pearl necklace I received from Bon Lemon to complete it. I was so excited when I pulled this necklace out of the box, all of my pearls are paired with silver so this is a nice change, and is a great deal at $28.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Will you be watching the Oscar’s?

Well we had a wonderful time spending the holidays in Lake Tahoe and then New York, the time flew by as vacations always seem to do. Get ready for a picture filled post!

We spent our first day in the picturesque and unseasonably warm Lake Tahoe by taking a boat tour around the lake. A little boring, but champagne was available, so that made it bearable. : ) I’ve found my Express faux fur vest to be such a versatile piece that when I was doing a return and found this black one at the Loft for $40 there was no way it wasn’t coming home with me. A coat was a little warm for this day, so the vest was a perfect layer.

We had Christmas dinner out at a seafood restaurant where I enjoyed a scallop and short rib combo with lots of veggies. I wore the same outfit seen here, and this blouse makes me happy each time I put it on. Thank you 50% off Ann Taylor sales.

The day after Christmas was spent skiing the slopes with Michael and my cousins, Lisa and Rocky. All blue runs due to the lack of snow this year, which was perfect for me.

A few days later we were off to New York , where I did my very first real Crossfit workout! Michael was excited to have me tag along and I managed to do a lot more than I thought I could. That is 105 pounds in case you are wondering.

The day before New Year’s Eve Michael and I hopped on the train into the city to visit Rockefeller Center, where he proposed a few years back, and have a few cocktails.

Here is another pretty background we found to take some pics. It was also unseasonably warm in New York (notice the lack of snow) so I was able to wear this gorgeous new Tahari cape  (still available in black!) that my MIL got me for Christmas. LOVE it! Thank you Carla!

You already saw my New Year’s Eve pics so that’s all I have from the trip.

But I’m back to work today, and of course, that requires getting dressed. I mentioned in my last post that I couldn’t wait to wear my statement necklace casually so why not work around that?

My inspiration today was from this picture of Olivia Palermo (I know, totally annoying on “The City”, but the girl’s got style!)

Pinned Image

Just pulled out my black and white striped tee, the new statement necklace and decided this was also the perfect opportunity to make my black velvet skinnies work for the office as well. Looking forward to catching up with my girls at happy hour, then headed home to unpack (always easier after a few glasses of wine).

Do you wear your statement necklaces to the office?

(I don’t normally show you my outerwear, but my MIL also got me this fabulous faux fur trimmed coat that makes me feel like a little like Rachel Zoe so including a shot of that too!)
