It’s been so long since I blogged I was thinking about just shutting it down… but then I find these things I love, like the most amazing tank in the world from Old Navy, and I’m thinking everyone needs to know about these! But seriously, I might not have the largest following, or have the newest clothes to share all the time, but I miss it and I’m going to try and do better. Hence the new blog look! I hope you all like it, it was definitely time for a more sophisticated refresh.
I can’t believe I’m coming up on my one year anniversary in Chicago – the time has flown by. I moved here knowing virtually no one, have found the most amazing group of supportive friends, a good job, and have fallen in love with this city. Although right now I could do without the snow and freezing temps in late April… but hey, it makes you appreciate the warmer weather when it does finally arrive. (I keep telling myself that anyway)
This is my Chicago bestie, Jen, who I call my platonic life partner (PLP) haha, we are neighbors and pretty much inseparable. Went on a trip to Charleston in January that was so much fun! We stalked the Southern Charm cast and got pics with Shep and Austen!
I also took a trip to Riviera Maya with more of my awesome Chicago girlfriends in February. Had the best time relaxing in the sun and doing nothing! We stayed at the adults only all inclusive resort, Platinum Yucatan Princess, highly recommend!
Things haven’t been perfect of course… as far as my love life is concerned there has been plenty of heartbreak, rejection, and ghosting (the worst), but really nothing better than good friends to keep you busy and get you through it. And after all of that, I had an old college boyfriend pop back into my life recently. He doesn’t live here, but we have a few trips planned to see each other again coming up, I’m taking it one day at a time! Never really believed the saying “they always come back” but I guess sometimes they do! : )
One of my favorite things about Chicago is my building, the Amli River North! The best thing truly, is the friends I’ve made living there, but I’m also a big fan of the awesome amenities, and my cute studio with plenty of closet space. I’d saved up money to be able to make this my home and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I decided to go with a neutral palate of black, white, and grey, along with accents of a soft pink. It’s feminine but sophisticated I think, and I purchased almost everything from Amazon to have delivered. When you don’t have a car it’s just easier that way! So here is a little tour of my 575 sq. ft. in Chicago! I’ve included links to many of the items pictured below.
Hope you all enjoyed the tour and the new blog design! Next up I’m working on a Rent the Runway Unlimited review, packing tips and tricks, and my favorite basics. Stay tuned!
