The Big 30!

Happy Monday everyone! Today is my actual 30th birthday and I must say I think the 30’s are going to be great! To celebrate, my Cousin Lisa (who turned 30 on June 16th) and I had a joint party here in Seattle which was a ton of fun! If you are ever looking for a private event space in Seattle the “Studio 1000” room at the Hotel 1000 downtown turned out to be a great spot. We did a “white” party theme, so just asked everyone to wear white, and hired ourselves a DJ because good music makes everything more fun. Lucky for Lisa I won’t post the 5 minute video I have of her dancing and singing at the end of the night to “Call Me Maybe”… but I am tempted because it’s awesome.

I had my wedding dress made into a cocktail dress for the event, you can see it in original form here. Lisa found herself an adorable floaty summer dress that can easily be dressed up or dressed down. I also got to open my birthday present from my in-laws before the party, my very first pair of Louboutin’s, that I am obsessed with – a classic pair of nude slingbacks that I can wear forever.

Here we are ready to get the party started!

Lisa and I actually have 2 other cousin’s that live here in Seattle too, Sarah and Jill, so I insisted we take a cousin shot!

And then a some other random shots from the night…

Thanks so much to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, it was a fabulous night! I look forward to another wonderful decade.

Happy 30th Birthday, Gorgeous!
What a smart idea to turn your wedding gown into a fabulous cocktail dress.
You have some very generous and stylish in-laws…I am drooling over those shoes.

Lisa Walter

Happy birthday to you! Your gown turned dress is amazing! I want to see how I can convert mine…..

Thank you Lisa! You should see if you can!

What a fantastic party! I can honestly say that I enjoyed my 30’s waaaaayyyy more than my 20’s. The 40’s are starting out great, too, primarily due to increased confidence about your abilities as you age.

My in-law’s gave me a Better Homes and Gardens subscription. I think you know what you have in your MIL, so treasure her!

I sent your comment to my MIL and she thought it was funny – I really am lucky : ) I think I am going to like my 30’s better too, definitely more comfortable in my own skin

Amy, you look fabulous in your new cocktail dress! Happy Birthday! Your new Loubies are fabulous, too. Jealous!

Yay for Loubies!!! So…. since the bottoms are going to get all f’ed up (making them not so pretty) the guy in U Village that works the little shoe repair shop in the middle that has non-slip tread stuff that he can put on them that matches CL red. 🙂 I had him do my wedding shoes, and they look awesome. Something to keep in mind!

Good to know Katie, thanks! I thought I was going to have to take them back to New York to get that done, happy to know there is somewhere here that can do it.

Congrats on turning the big 30. I actually like my 30s much more than my 20s. And aren’t you clever turning your gown into a fab cocktail dress. Great idea!

Happy Birthday, girl!!!! I’m so sorry I wasn’t here to wish you your birthday greetings on Monday. Fabulous idea with the dress…SO BEAUTIFUL!! Looks like you had a fantastic birthday celebration. I believe you should continue the celebration through the week…this was a milestone birthday after all!! 🙂 Cheers!

Thanks Karissa! Going out tomorrow night for the final celebration : )
