1 Year Blogiversary!

Today is my 1 year blogiversary! Yes, one year ago my little blog was born, and I’ve had a ton of fun with it. Thanks so much to all of you readers, commenters, and supporters out there that make this something I look forward to doing each day.

The lovely Marion over at Marionberry Style tagged me in this post a few weeks back, with 11 random questions and I thought it would be fun to respond to them for my blogiversary post, something a little different. Unfortunately, it has been a long day and I’m not going to be able to follow all the rules for reposting on this one, but next time, I promise!

1) What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

My Barbie plane when I was about 9 years old. I mean seriously, what can top that?! I still remember walking into the living room and seeing it all set up on Christmas morning. I’m pretty sure my Barbie’s flew across the country about 50 times.

2) What color best describes you and why?

I’m going to have to go with Pink! What can I say? It is a happy, feminine, glamourous color- all things I hope to be!

3) Dogs or cats?  Explain your choice.

I am going to have to go with cats I think! I adore dogs, but they are a whole lot more work than cats. My little dog Caleb lives with his Grandma in Southern CA now, and is much happier with her and her big yard. Isn’t he a cutie?

But as much as I love Caleb, I also love my 3 kitties Lola, Coco, and Oliver. And given that my husband takes care of their feeding and litter cleaning, I just get to enjoy their love. So cats win, mostly because let’s be honest, I’m sort of lazy.

4) What has the ability to make you laugh out loud?

Modern Family – Can anyone watch it with a straight face?

5) What would you order for your last meal?

A shredded beef burrito smothered in hot green chile from Si Senor in Las Cruces, NM along with a cinnamon and sugar sopapilla with honey. I would probably add a side of Wendy’s french fries along with it. Here is a picture of my friend Kara with what would be my last burrito…

6) What color nail polish are you wearing right now?

A clear sparkly one. I basically only get super sheer color on my nails unless I’m doing shellac, because it is just too much maintenance otherwise.

7) What are 2 blogs you think we should know about?

I don’t know, too many good ones to choose from! Check out my blogroll : )

8) Which would you prefer and why: A vacation with lots of excitement and go-go-go OR a relaxing vacation centered on recharging the batteries?

Definitely a relaxing vacation centered on recharging the batteries. I’m not one for much adventure on vacation. I pretty much just want a beach chair, a good book, and constantly refreshed mimosa. We’ve gone kayaking on a trip to the Carribean and biking in Tuscany and I told my husband that I am never doing either of these again! : ) Let’s keep things looking like this please?

9) What was the name of your first boyfriend?

My first boyfriend was named Matt Peterson and yes, he broke my poor little heart. I was 18, he was 25 (he was in college at that age because he had been in the Marines). He was actually a good boyfriend the short time it lasted, and I think everyone has to have their heart broken sometime, it makes you a stronger person. Funny enough, the girl he started dating just after me, that he actually introduced me to at a party one night, is now one of my best friend’s and sorority little sister, Kara. I just couldn’t hate her! We both say that each other are the best thing that came out of our relationship with him. You might think he had a thing for blonds seeing us, but he actually married a brunette.

10) What is your drink of choice on a ladies night out?

Champagne!! Michael calls it my “jet fuel”

11) What is one goal you hope to accomplish for yourself this year?

Ah, the 11th question. I have a number of goals, but let’s go with I want to keep improving and growing my little blog. Let me know if you have any ideas for me!

And of course we have to have to have an outfit post now, it wouldn’t be a 1 year blogiversary without it. I actually wore this outfit yesterday, it is a “trying to feel like Spring in the cold” outfit. I tucked my bright blue jeans into boots and then paired with a white tee and mustard cardigan. I wasn’t sure what jewelry I was going to wear until I saw this blue necklace I picked up in Capri on my honeymoon and realized it tied all of the colors together. Do you like the blue with the blue?

(Sorry I am behind in comment replies, I will catch up this weekend! Things have been crazy at the new job.)

Jeans – Sanctuary via Ross, Tee – Calson, Sweater – Halogen, Boots – Bandolino

Bon Blogiversairre a toi! You’re doing a great job.

I’m a cat person, too. I miss my sweet kitty Cossytte everyday. For my last meal, I’d want to be stuffed with the chocolate croissants that are made at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. That and mango and lemon gelato.

Thanks so much Rebekah, I really appreciate your support. Your last meal sounds delicious : )
