Royal & Leather

Yes, we made it to Friday finally!! I can’t wait to get home, put on my lounge clothes (usually leggings and a tunic), open a bottle of wine and relax! I have had something every night this week so am ready to do nothing.

Tomorrow I have a closet cleanout with a new client, so excited about that, and then my friend Mini Me’s birthday party tomorrow night (her real name is Sam). I  call her Mini Me though because she is so tiny and cute, her feet are a size 4! I asked if next Halloween we could put her in a blond wig and wear our matching trench coats so she could really be my Mini Me : ) Happy Birthday Sam! (she’s in the red shirt)

Now moving on to today’s outfit, I really wish I left myself more time to get dressed in the morning or tried things on the night before.

I normally don’t buy or wear a lot of turtlenecks because they generally aren’t the most flattering on us busty people. But I still love them! So when I found this one in this gorgeous royal blue color, that I am also a sucker for, at Ann Taylor during Black Friday shopping I went ahead and picked it up.

Here is one version I tried with a longer necklace and smaller earrings…

And then here is actually how I ended up wearing it with no necklace and larger earrings. I think I liked the one above better looking at pics but I ran out of time and had to make a decision. Next time you see this it will be with my hair down (this is my don’t want to wash my hair do) and with pants instead of a skirt – I think I will like it better that way. Sarah at the Daily Sophisticate also suggested I try with my faux fur vest which I think is a very good idea.

Which way do you prefer?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Amy. I like the necklace because it breaks up the long line of the turtleneck. I would have preferred the turtleneck untucked, perhaps with a skinny black belt. I like untucked sweaters better due to bulk.

Thanks for your thoughts! I tried it untucked with a belt but it sort of bulged weird, might have to play around with that more when I’m not in such a rush. I appreciate the comment!

I like the necklace. It elongates the look.

I like the larger earrings with your hair up, but I like the necklace if you wore your hair down… And I love the turtleneck tucked in. Great outfit!

We are turtleneck twins! I also picked this one up on black Friday. I prefer turtlenecks without a necklace, maybe if you added a belt instead?

May I say how marvellous, how truly marvellous you really look in your superb leather skirt. That leather skirt really suits you. I came across your webpage some weeks ago and noticed that you were wearing that beautiful leather skirt.
Very best wishes from the U.K.

By the way, I forget to say that your wonderful leather skirt looks superb with you white jacket.
Oh, and the turtleneck does suit you, it really does.
You look truly stunning.
Very best regards from Christopher in the U.K.
