Straight No Chaser

Last night’s concert was AMAZING! Seriously, if you ever have a chance to go see this group, definitely do. They were funny, talented, and put on a great show. They became famous via YouTube so they let you film during their performances – no wasted marketing opportunities for them! Here is the (very bad, sorry) video I took of them singing “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch”. The basses were awesome to hear as they normally don’t get solos.

Going to a show is always a good excuse to get dressed up I think, and the perfect opportunity to wear this blouse I picked up at Ann Taylor. I fell in love with it back in New York actually, but they didn’t have my size so I passed on it. When I found it in my size when I went to return a few things here in Seattle, and at 50% off no less, I had to have it. I actually took back something I bought on Black Friday that I didn’t like as much so that it would fit in my budget. Totally worth it, I think the lace detailing in white on the front and the black accents are just gorgeous and I like the slightly floaty fit. Because it isn’t a figure hugging top, I paired with these black velvet skinnies (another Black Friday purchase) and then accented with a sparkly bracelet and earrings, and my go to winter “spotted leopard” clutch. My Mother In Law gave me this clutch for Christmas last year, and I’m so glad she did – it seems to go with almost anything I put on for parties in December and is much more fun than basic black!  I of course also added my favorite accessory this holiday season, my MAC Russian Red lipstick! Go check out the gorgeous La Vie Petite’s holiday accessory link up!

What is your favorite accessory this holiday season?

Blouse – Ann Taylor (sort of similar), Pants – GAP, Shoes – Nine West, Clutch – Ann Taylor(similar), Bracelet – Premier Designs

Love the outfit and love your blog. I just started following you a few days ago and I really love your style! I had a fashion question for you. I am attending my husbands Christmas party this weekend and it is not a real dressy dinner, but I want to look cute and festive. I am wearing pants like you have on in the picture above, black and silver sparkly top and I was wanting to wear red heels and red earrings to give it a more Christmas feel. The only red shoes I have are pumps with a slight open toe. Is that appropriate? I just can’t decide! Thanks!!!!

Thanks you Sarah, glad you are a new follower! I think as long as you live in a climate that isn’t covered in snow where your toes might freeze, the red peep toe will be great! I would let those stand out though and do a silver earring instead of red. Hope that helps, have fun!
