Jacket Envy and The Leather Skirt

Does that sound like the title for an episode of Gossip Girl? Well that may be because I spent last watching the season premiere with some friends! Very fun! Once that was over, we then proceeded to watch the new show, Hart of Dixie, starring Rachel Bilson. Not that I don’t have enough TV shows to watch already, but this one has been added to the list! Well the ever stylish Ms. Bilson gave us all a serious case of jacket envy throughout the show, our favorite being this little Chanel number below. Well obviously Chanel is a bit out of most of our budgets, so at our host Sarah’s request, I have found some very cute somewhat similar options so you can create your own jacket envy.

Now onto today’s outfit, I’m breaking out the gorgeous leather skirt I picked up at this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I have an event show at the convention center I am headed to today, so figured it would be nice to wear it when more than the people in my office would see me : )

I absolutely adore this skirt, and need to work on some different combos for the upcoming season, but today I kept it simple and professional with a┬áruffled white button down. I will definitely be jazzing this skirt up for evenings though as well! Fortunately today is going to be sunny and almost 70 so didn’t need any legwear, but I am loving these Payless suede pumps – very comfy!

Pretty, classic leather skirt outfit. I really like leather skirts paired with contrasts as you did here with ruffles. I would also try soft sweater, such as cashmere or angora. Those that have a slight “fuzzy” vibe to them for a soft vibe. And a cropped or slouchy sweater may work nicely against the streamlined skirt. Also a printed (or plain) blouse (maybe your new BR PB blouse) may work nicely. My last idea is a turtleneck with long necklaces for a slightly modern vibe. Oh and footwear, maybe some suede booties?
