Easy Hair, Easy Tunic

I have been trying to grow my hair out for 2 years now with very little results. Basically the front half just does not want to grow! So then I have to cut the back part that does grow before it gets too mulletish. I know part of this is that I get highlights, bleach isn’t exactly easy on my fine hair. But then I also abuse it almost daily with the hair dryer and curling iron because I have spent my whole life obsessed with having curly hair. I know many of you out there with naturally curly hair would love my stick straight locks, but the grass is always greener, and there is a big difference between thick straight hair and thin straight hair. So when I saw this video from love Maegan, I knew I had to give her heatless curls a try and I’m so glad I did! I wasn’t really sure what to expect, and I did have to give a few sections a little help from the clampless curling iron, but overall, I rolled out of bed, took out the headbend, and ended up with my hair looking pretty good! You can be the judge of course as you can see the results in today’s picture. I am also planning on giving her other version of heatless curls a try too.

I don’t wear flats very often, but my legs are sore today, and we are headed to a fashion show with our friends Amanda and Brandon tonight (pics to come tomorrow) to which I will of course be wearing heels, so I decided to give my feet a little break today. There is definitely a chill in the air as well, so I decided it would be the perfect time to pull out my $20 H&M sweater tunic. I paired it with grey leggings today, but when it gets cooler plan on wearing with my brown leggings and cognac boots – I love the combo of brown and pink. I wish I had picked this up in Navy blue as well, but they are out of it at my downtown Seattle H&M – I may have to track it down at another one! I am such a duplicator when I find something I like…

What do you think of the heatless curls?

The curls look awesome! I would have never guessed they were heatless. Have you looked into digital perms? This blogger says they are not damaging and require zero maintenance: http://www.heyprettything.com/2011/09/digital-perm-2.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+HeyPrettyThing+%28hey+pretty+thing%29 She went for a more beachy look, but you can specify how tight you want the curls.

Can’t wait to see pics from the show! 🙂

So interesting! I found a few places that do that hear in Seattle, but it sounds like if you color your hair it isn’t such a good idea : (

Ah, I knew there had to be something! Sounded too good to be true. I guess we are resigned to damaging heat and funny night-time hairdos (Brandon pokes fun at me when I do the bun-thing) 😛

I can’t believe those curls are heatless, they have great bounce and fullness to them. I also struggle to grow my hair long when I color it. You look really good in pink! And those leggings hit your leg at just the right spot, mine always stop at my ankles and it looks odd, just a tad too long then. And flats can be fun too, smart move to give your feet a break every now and then.
