Well today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year here so far, so there was no way I was covering up these legs! I was planning on going to ballet class tonight, but have decided that a stuffy unairconditioned studio is no way to spend a record breaking day like this, so perhaps instead Michael and I will be enjoying my crockpot dinner on the roof with a bottle of wine. That sounds better doesn’t it? I may even put on a cute outfit that involves the shorts that haven’t been worn all year…

I heard from my friend Sarah who had the fire at her home, and she had the great suggestion of photographing your closet for insurance purposes, and if you buy any designer or high end items, probably a good idea to photograph those seperately as well. Great tip as you never know what could happen! I would also suggest having all your photos and computer documents backed up on a server that is in a different location than your home. Fortunately Michael is a back up nut and has this all taken care of for us.

In great fashion news, Zara is finally online and they have free shipping! So excited! Here are the 3 items I picked up this weekend in San Fran;

1. Mustard Blazer (I hate the way this is styled here, I promise I will make it look better!)

2. Layered front T shirt (This will be great for work as well as going out)

3. Basic Navy V Neck Sweater (A classic piece like this will be perfect for layering in the Fall and Winter – I love the fit)

4. And I have to add this, I saw this dress on a sales girl at John Varvatos, and it was absolutely stunning in person, but only on someone thin enough to pull off the volume. I hope my tiny friend Kenzie gets it (if she weren’t so cute and nice, I would hate her because she can wear everything I can’t!) Check out the back!

So today’s outfit revolved around a skirt to take advantage of the temperature, and I knew I had found an idea for this skirt and pinned it to my Pinterest board, so I looked it up and voila – outfit inspiration! Pair with striped shirt and brown belt. So I did. Get on Pinterest if you aren’t already -so full of great ideas. You can follow my boards if you want – just look up Amy Affronti.

And here is my version. I know, not quite as cool as her, but I’m trying! What do we thinking about the brown belt? I always would have just gone with black, but kind of like that it is a little unexpected.

Nice job interpreting your inspiration! This outfit is darling. I’m going to save a copy of your picture for my own collection of inspiring outfits.

I do this all the time (dark brown antique belt over blacks, or denims) and find it more sophisticated. Love your blog!

    Glad to know I’m not the only one : ) Thanks!
