Travlin’

So excited this is a short work week for me, I am leaving the office today at noon and then Michael and I are headed down to San Diego this afternoon for one of his best friend’s wedding! It is going to be a great weekend, not just because of the wedding, but Michael’s parents are meeting us there and they are awesome, and I also get to see one of my very good friends, Elizabeth, too!

A big thank you as well to Erin at Mom’s Have Style Too, she let me do a guest blog for her while she is moving and ironically, I am wearing the same pants I talk about in that post today too!

These pants have gotten a ton of use see here, here and here and are also a favorite for traveling because they are so comfy! My sister in law, who wears Hard Tail sweats to the airport religiously tells me I dress up too much for travel – but once again, growing up my mom had us dress up when we went on airplanes so the tradition remains. I wouldn’t exactly say I dress up either, I just generally don’t wear sweats. I believe that comfort and style can co-exist so I go for comfortable pants with a bit of stretch along with a cotton top and a scarf in case I get cold, or leggings with a tunic/dress and a fun necklace is also a good option – mine for the way home this time. Oh, and I obviously have a thing for leopard this week (see yesterday’s post). See you all back here on Monday, have a wonderful weekend!

What do you travel in?

PS – in case you didn’t know Old Navy, Banana Republic, and The Gap are all 30% off online orders through today

Pants – Hudson via Nordstrom Rack (similar), Top – Old Navy, Scarf – Ann Taylor (similar), Shoes – Target (similar), Cardigan – Halogen

Here is how I am planning on wearing this most of the day

But I added a black cardi to make it more work appropriate. I will probably top with my denim jacket for the aiport instead.

Jeans with stretch are just as comfortable to wear on a plane as sweats, and you have the advantage of looking pulled together and receiving more courteous service throughout your travel experience. My favorite travel outfit on a plane/train consists of bootcut jeans, tank top, black v-neck cashmere sweater, and a colorful scarf (usually baby blue). In a car, I exchange the sweater for a cardigan and wear my driving mocassins.
