Pop

Well yesterday was all about pink, today is just a pop of pink with the shoes. Yes, pink is one of my favorite colors. I have worn this vest a few times before here, here and here, but I think today is actually my favorite outfit with it so far.

I have to suggest that you run out and buy a pair of these pants immediately if you are in the market for a pair of versatile black skinny pants – I just bought a second pair because I love them so much and they are finally back at Ann Taylor now. I got these that I am wearing today at the after Christmas sale last year for 40% off, but they only had a petite pair in my size and sometimes I wish they were a little longer. So I picked up a regular length pair at their 30% off sale a few weeks ago and they are waiting to get hemmed now (annoying that the petite are short and the regular are too long I know – that’s what the tailor is for I guess). They are sure to have another sale soon so keep your eye out. These pants are as comfortable as leggings, but much thicker and have all the requisite pockets to make them not leggings – because leggings are not pants! They are great with heels as well as tucked into boots. You can see them on Sarah at the Daily Sophisticate here as well.

Ok, enough free advertising for Ann Taylor, now onto my next tip today – these shoes were saved by a Sharpie pen! I walk around a lot in the city here in my high heels and the stupid cracks in the sidewalk seem to have a vendetta against my favorite shoes – they are constantly scrapping up my heels! I am a stickler for shoes and heels being in good shape to leave the house, so when I took these to the shoe repair to see what they could do to fix the scraped up heels I was practically laughed out the door – apparently they don’t have a lot of hot pink leather on hand. Now I am not recommending you do this on a regular basis, especially for your basic colored shoes (get those heels fixed properly), but if you get desperate to hide a few minor scratches, stop by your local Office Depot and hit the Sharpie pen aisle. I couldn’t believe how many colors they had! Picked the one closest to my shoe color, did a little heel artwork, and now these are wearable again with the damage only visible upon close inspection. Yay!

Ok now Ann Taylor, Sharpie, and Office Depot have all received free advertising today…
