Stripes and Flowers

Happy hump day everyone – let’s hope this day goes by fast so we are closer to the weekend! Michael and I ended up not even seeing a movie last night – we went to dinner and then decided to just go home and watch a movie there (we watched All Good Things with Ryan Gosling, a very interesting true story) – it takes a movie we are actually excited to see to get us to the theatre on a weeknight I think, and Horrible Bosses wasn’t at the top of either of our lists. Well, at least I got a dinner date and had a break from cooking : ) In case any of you are thinking, wow, Michael is so lucky to get cooked for every night, well – he is. But I do have to admit that I get my bacon and eggs, or omelet, or whatever he whips up brought to me in bed every morning while I watch the news and find out the weather so you could say I am a lucky girl too!

I was running a little late today due to having to finish up my crock pot recipe that is cooking for tonight – look for my post tomorrow if it is good – Coconut curry pork tenderloin with carrots and butternut squash. A dress is always an easy thing when you are running behind – one piece! Dresses can be a little harder to remix than seperates though. Wore this dress last with my denim jacket here, so today decided to do a little pattern mixing with my floral Payless shoes (love these!) and my navy blazer instead of the denim jacket. The flower pin was a last minute addition, but I think it ties the other colors in the shoes in even better. So there we go, hoping for some sun at lunch so I can go walk around a little!

How do you remix dresses?

Dress – The Loft (similar), Blazer – H&M (similar), Shoes – Payless (similar), Floral pin – NY&Co

I HAVE THAT DRESS! But it doesn’t look nearly as good on me as it does on you. See the evidence here: http://momshavestyle2.blogspot.com/2011/04/happy-easter.html

I’ll have to try it again…not sure what I’ll do differently, but you’ve re-inspired me!

Lovely remix of your dress. I’m a big fan of swapping a blazer for a cardigan to remix a dress. I want to try a dress as a top with a skirt or as a bottom with a shirt over it, but haven’t done so yet. Dresses are so fast and easy!

I want to try that too sometime, but not sure I have the right pieces yet!
