Is that the sun in the sky?

Yes, yes it is!! The sun has finally decided to make an appearance here in Seattle and it is supposedly going to be sticking around for a few days! Of course, I will believe it when I see it, but there is hope!

I have been planning this outfit for awhile, just waiting for a sunny day to break out the white pants! Not that you can’t wear white pants when it is not sunny, but looking out the window and seeing grey clouds and wind in the trees doesn’t exactly inspire pulling out a summery look does it? Also, I prefer my white pants not get splashed with street goo.

I love the combo of this soft green and navy, so Springy I think! And I didn’t get a shot that showed my shoes well, but they are a very cute pair of nude gladiator style heels that I picked up at Ross – yay!

Pants – Ann Taylor hand me down from Mother in law (she’s awesome), Shirt – Banana Republic from at least 2 years ago, Navy Blazer – H&M (love it!), Necklace – Premier Designs, Shoes – Nine West via Ross

Do you have a favorite pair of white pants?

I don’t wear my white pants on days it may rain either. If they were skinnies and I could tuck them, maybe I would but mine are bootcuts and I feel that’s looking for trouble on rainy days. These white pants are lovely, great drape to them, you look so long and lean in this style. Pretty mix of blue and white here. I hope you remix these white pants with your red blazer sometime too.

Thanks Lisa, I will definitely remix with the red blazer sometime!

I think the key to white trousers is finding a silhouette that flatters your shape. I have a memory of an athletic woman shopping at Hermes in the Bravern, and her white fitted jeans were tucked inside cognanc-colored riding boots. It was a very rich, understated look. She wore a black cashmere sweater and a scarf in her hair.

For my shape, I wear bootcut trousers. I like to pair a fitted black top (to take advantage of my smaller top half) with the full white trousers and then spark up the ensemble with gold or turquoise jewelry.

That sounds like a lovely outfit you saw, might have to copy in the fall : ) And your outfit sounds lovely as well, I actually wore something very similar to that not that long ago, I did white jeans, with a black long sleeved shirt as it was cooler, and a long turquoise necklace! Great minds think alike : )
