Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day weekend! Michael and I headed out to Woodinville Saturday to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We started the day off by enjoying some of the wineries, and it was a beautiful day to find a patio at one of them!
I wore my printed ankle pants that I picked up at Loft last year and still love, with a cream colored tie front blouse that I managed to get for just $13 at Express. Some great black wedges and the new tote that Michael surprised me with as an anniversary/birthday gift finished the outfit off. My fun yellow bracelet was a purchase from a cute New Mexico shop, Crown Boutique, that is now online – check them out!
Pants – Loft (similar), Blouse – Express, Shoes – Ivanka Trump (similar), Bag – Michael Kors (available in white online)
We had an amazing dinner at the Herbfarm restaurant and stepped out during dinner to enjoy the gardens where many of the herbs used for the meal are grown. A beautiful night!

Happy Friday! Hope you all have some fun weekend plans. Michael and I are headed out for a little weekend getaway to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, crazy how the time flies!
I was browsing on Piperlime recently and clicked on the link for “Girl on a Budget” – such cute stuff! Here are some of my favorites:

Anything you will be adding to your shopping list?
Hope you all had a great weekend, we had another fairly sunny one here so that was nice. Friday I met my friend’s Julie and Sam for lunch and then Michael and I headed out for the afternoon to a rose wine tasting event at a little French bistro in Pike Place Market. Very fun and the wine was fabulous.
I wore the faux leather skirt that I picked up at the Nordstrom Savvy department last month, and kept it a little casual by pairing with a white boat neck tee and a chunky turquoise necklace. Sorry about the squinty eyes, clearly I should have put on a pair of sunglasses!
Skirt – Nordstrom, Shirt – Old Navy (similar), Shoes – Loft, Bag – Coach, Necklace – Premier Designs
Monday night we headed out to play trivia at a local place, trying to get out and do some new activities. I decided to dress up a bit and pulled out my new denim pencil skirt that I picked up at the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale. I like that this skirt can be dressed up or down and it is a great way to wear denim other than just jeans. I paired with this blouse I picked up awhile back at Forever 21 and my fun floral cork sandals that are still going strong after 3 years!
In case you are wondering, we came in 9th place in trivia, and if it weren’t for the guy my cousin is dating I’m sure it would have been last… guess we better start practicing!
Skirt – Kut from the Kloth (size down, mine is a 2), Blouse – F21, Shoes – Payless (similar here and here), Bag – Kate Spade
We ended up having a gorgeous day in Seattle on Sunday, and the streak has fortunately continued. Our average temp this time of year is about 68 degrees, so we are very grateful to be getting above 70 now.
My husband took me out for a “Terrific Lady Day” which if you watch “The League” you will know what that means. If not, you are missing out, find it on Netflix! Basically we did whatever I wanted for the day without any complaining from him : ) Normally this would include shopping, but it was too nice out for that so we started the day off with brunch at an awesome French bistro in Pike Place Market, then strolled around the market and picked up some fresh veggies for the week.
I wore a casual maxi dress and topped with my much loved denim jacket to keep the chill out.
Dress – Old Navy, Jacket – Old Navy
Then we hit a cafe for a cappuccino and some relaxing…
And following a quick wardrobe change met some of my girlfriends to enjoy a patio happy hour for the afternoon sunshine. Just my hubby and the girls… he had a blast : )
Hope you are all getting nice weather wherever you are too!
Ah, don’t you just love a good Nordstrom sale?! Here are some items I’m liking this year.
Love all the colors of this mid-heel sandal – $59.59

Just might have to pull the trigger on these, another great mid-heel option – $67.60

Love the idea of a casual denim pencil skirt – $37.20 The reviews suggest sizing down!

I love stripes! This dress is so cute and versatile – $89.98

You can get the crochet top I featured during my Savvy shopping trip for just $34.80 now! (Mine is a medium)

And you can’t go wrong with stripes and peplum for $40.80

Anything you are loving that I missed?
Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend! Of course nice to have the day off , but also good to remember all of those who have died for our country. My husband did this by completing the Crossfit workout “Murph” in honor of a fallen soldier. Too intense for me but hats off to all those who finished!
My dad and his wife were in town so we spent some time with them and got to hang out with friends a bit too. It poured all day yesterday which wasn’t great, but we made the best of it.
I’m working on getting myself into a more regular work schedule so I get out of pajamas and into the real world on a daily basis. Today I’m working from a Microsoft office space that isn’t too bad! Kind of quiet, but great views. I’m also meeting some friends for dinner tonight so put together this outfit that will work for both. I love the soft color palate here with the pink and grey, and these jeans have quickly become a favorite!
Jeans – Loft, Sweater – Banana Republic (similar), Tank – TJMaxx, Shoes – Target
One of the most challenging things about living in Seattle is keeping warm in the spring while not dressing for winter. Although I can assure you there are plenty of people still walking around in boots and parkas. Colorful jeans are my go to because they are cheerful but just as warm as regular jeans.
I was heading to lunch and to work at Starbucks yesterday with my work from home friend, Savannah, and decided pulled out my bright coral jeans to plan around. I love the combo of coral and mint, so decided on a white open weave sweater with a mint necklace and topped with my denim jacket to try and stay warm. I was still cold, but fortunately didn’t have to be outside for long!
Almost to the 3 day weekend – whoo hoo!
Jeans – Ann Taylor (similar), Jacket – Old Navy, Sweater – Old Navy (similar), Necklace – passed down from friend
Well I managed to survive another trip with my crazy sorority sisters and other friends. It was so nice to have some fun in the sun, especially since I’ve had to come home to 50 degree temps and rain – not so fun. If you notice I am blogging less in May and June it is because the grey days and cold temps leave me uninspired – the Springtime Seattle Blues.
But back to more pleasant things, here are some pics from this year’s fabulous trip!
We started the first day out at the Cosmopolitan pool, such a nice hotel!
Dress – F21
Had an awesome night at our table at Tryst
Spent a fabulous day at Marquee Dayclub
Where we of course worked our way into a cabana…
Had a fun night out on Friday, here I am with my bestie of 21 years, April. Dress is Halston Heritage via 6pm.com – check them out for great deals!
Saturday was spent enjoying the pool at Hard Rock celebrating my friend Kenzie’s 30th
Then we finished out the trip with a night at XS! Love this sparkly dress I wore that my MIL picked up at Annie Sez and then kindly donated to me.
I’m headed back to Vegas in 6 weeks for a family reunion. I think it will take me about that long to recover!
Ah, yellow. One of my favorite colors to brighten up a grey Seattle day. Sometimes you find that blondes are scared to wear yellow, but not this one! Happy to be linking up for Marionberry Style’s Trend of the Month Challenge: Yellow today. Be sure to go check out how everyone is wearing this fun color.
I’m off to Vegas tomorrow for my annual girl’s trip with my sorority sisters as well as one of my very best friend’s bachelorette party, so hope you all have a fabulous weekend and if I survive the mayhem I will be back next week : )
