Hi there! Back from a wonderful week on the beautiful island of St. Lucia! Had such a great time with my husband and in-laws. We stayed at The Landing there which I highly recommend.
It was so nice to get out of this bitterly cold weather and into some new warm weather items!
I absolutely love this new Eliza J maxi dress – now on sale for less than $100! I took a size 6 in this. It has a built in bra that helps make it comfortable and practical.
For the trip home I chose this comfy maxi, love the flattering print. Wearing a medium, but I did have it taken up a bit at the shoulder and needed a hem.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope all of you in this cold have a warm weather vacation planned too!
Headed out for happy hour with the girls last night, still freezing here but decided to brighten things up with this fun blue blazer – I love this color! Added some texture with leather leggings and some sparkle with a statement necklace. Can’t wait to also wear this blazer with white jeans and a printed blouse for spring – it’s a great transition piece and even better, only $25. I’m typically a medium in F21 blazers but took a large in this. It could be a little smaller, but the medium was a little too small. And being able to move your arms is important I think.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly, and if you are anything like me, finding gifts for your significant other is a challenge! My husband is so hard to shop for! So I was very excited when the company, Uncommon Goods, asked if I would like to review some products. I checked out the site and immediately agreed – this was exactly the kind of thing I had been looking for! A company that features unique designs and handcrafted gifts. And not just for my husband, but for my in-laws, mom, dad, the list goes on.
This fabulous, socially aware and privately-owned retailer is based out of Brooklyn, just a few miles from where I live! Their lowest paid seasonal worker starts at 50% above the minimum wage, and half of what they sell is made by hand. Most products are created here in the USA and 1/3 are made from recycled or upcycled materials. So cool!
The hubby and I are both big wine drinkers so I picked out some wine items to give Michael for Valentine’s Day. I mean, it doesn’t hurt if I get to use them too, right? I decided to go with the a wine preserver bottle and some wine pearls. Click here for some more great Valentine’s Day ideas for husbands, and here for ideas for wives.
Now let’s be honest, when we open a bottle of wine we don’t often end up with leftovers, but some weeknights I open a bottle and have a glass or two when Michael is out or doesn’t want any. Hence this great bottle that helps keep it fresh up to a week after opening. I didn’t get to try it with red yet, but definitely excited about that as red tends to go bad so quickly. Plus you get the added benefit of decanting it.
My crazy, fun Italian in-laws love their wine as well (it’s one of the reasons we get along so well). They also like really cold white wine. This usually involves adding ice cubes to make it cold enough. Well these wonderful little wine pearls solve the problem, keeping your white cold without watering it down. Just store them in the freezer and add to your wine as needed. My mother-in-law and father-in-law are definitely getting a few packages of these babies for some upcoming birthdays!
So glad I got the opportunity to try this company out! You can find personalized gifts here, and gifts for all the women in your life here as well. Be sure to give them a shot the next time you are wondering what to get someone and let me know what you think!
*I was given these products for free to review, but as always, all opinions are my own.
Hi everyone! Took a nice little trip to Seattle last week to visit with friends.
Had a fabulous girls night in at my cousin’s place.
And cheered on the Seahawks (to a very sad loss) with adorable Baby Emma. How cute are those polka dot jeans?!
I’m feeling a bit in a winter slump, mostly wearing black pants, my dressy snow boots and a sweater or blouse. This time of year is so hard. If you are looking for a pair of snow boots that don’t make you feel like a schlump, I absolutely love my Blondo’s. No one believes me they are snow boots. Well, they are waterproof, grip the ground, and are warm enough for me to call them that!
Also love this new pair out
I’m headed to St. Lucia next Saturday with Michael’s family and I can’t wait!! A whole week of fun in the sun. I picked up this gorgeous dress at Nordstrom and now you can get it on sale! The fabric is just gorgeous and it even has a built in bra- yay! I took a 6 in this. Just be warned it is long, so if you aren’t really tall it will need a little hem.
I fell in love with this beautiful orange shift dress. Perfect to dress up or down for many different occasions. I plan on wearing this in Sonoma next month. I took a 6 in this as well.
Some things on my resort wish list:
And I love my Robin Piccone swimsuits – this new one is gorgeous!
Any resort wear finds out there I need to know about for my upcoming trips?
Happy Friday, thank you so much for stopping by!
I’m sure you all know we are getting a major storm here in NYC – Juno is upon us! It actually isn’t as bad as predicted, at least not here in the city, but definitely enjoying a nice cozy day in!
Perfect time to take advantage of some online shopping sales and get some new stuff for either an upcoming warm weather vacation, or to help transition from winter to spring.
Loft is having 40% off everything online only
Chambray Stripe Dress – This is so cute, I have it in a small – perfect now with tights and ankle boots, just switch to bare legs and wedges in spring
I didn’t shop at Old Navy over the winter much but I am loving some of the new spring items. Use code AMPM for 30% off until 3pm and 20% after that.

I have my eye on this cute tropical print sundress for an upcoming vacation to St. Lucia!
Happy Shopping! Stay warm and safe if you are in the northeast!
Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone had a good weekend, especially if you got Monday off!
Wore this last week to drinks with the girls, trying to break out of my black pants rut – so obviously a black skirt seemed like a good choice! I added some leopard print mid-heels and a sparkly necklace to jazz up the basics. This necklace is from an amazing service called Rocksbox – you pay $19 a month and get 3 pieces of fabulous jewelry. You can keep as long as you want, and then when you are ready for some new stuff just send it back and you will get 3 new pieces! And if you love something you can purchase it as well. Get your first month free with code amybff35. Give it a try!
Off to run errands, thanks for stopping by!
Happy Hump Day! Where has the week gone?
Last night I wore this to book club, this month our book was MWF seeks BFF – I totally related to it and thought it was pretty good. It is about one woman’s search to find a new BFF after moving to Chicago with her husband.
I was feeling inspired to mix things up last night and decided to try some new layering. I ended up really loving this outfit! I’m not big on button up shirts usually, but really liked this one with a sparkly collar layered under this dress. My red booties added a splash of color.
Hope everyone is having a great week, thanks for stopping by!
Well I’m back after a nice, long blogging break. We had a great Christmas with Michael’s family, and then headed to Jamaica to ring in the New Year, and enjoy some warm weather. It was my first time there but definitely not my last. We stayed at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay and it was absolutely fabulous.
Here are some pics from the end of December…
I wore this winter white outfit to the holiday Pops show at Carnegie Hall. Labor Day is no reason to stop wearing white pants! To see more fun winter white looks pop over to Rich Life on a Budget’s “How I Wear My: Winter White” post.
For Christmas Eve I kept things festive with a red blouse and sparkly necklace
The day after Christmas we had a date day in Manhattan! I wore this great blouse I picked up at a cute boutique on Long Island with my MIL and a few of my new Christmas presents.
Then off for our vacation!
Got to break out my new Kendra Scott earrings – I’m obsessed with them
We also did a fun little photo shoot while we were there
So Happy New Year to you all, hope 2015 is your best year yet! Thanks so much for being here!
Last night I had some of my New York ladies over for a fun holiday party and gift exchange! So lucky to have such a great group of friends here in my new city.
I got these pants last year at Loft and they are perfect for a festive evening, and I’m loving lace right now, so I paired them together for a fun holiday outfit. I also decided to take advantage of staying in for the night by wearing my sparkly wedding shoes, that are a bit too high for me to wear out much now.
Hope you all are having a lovely holiday season so far!
Here I am with my friend Angela – she got me this super fun bag from Chelsea Market and I love it : )
And all the girls!
I’ve been slacking on the outfit pictures lately but I wore this a few weeks back, on an unusually warm night, to have dinner with our friends that were in town from Seattle. We went to this adorable place called Rosemary’s in the West Village that is one of my favorite spots.
A blazer was all the layering I needed so I paired this navy blazer with gold buttons over an orange blouse – one of my favorite color combos!
Happy Friday, hope you all have a great weekend!
