Everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I’m very excited to be hosting this year, my mom and brother will be visiting, and we have a few friends coming as well. I’m leaving my mom in charge of the turkey (that’s what mom’s are good at right?!), but here are the sides I’m planning on:
Wore this outfit to dinner on a cold Friday night, perfect to break out some faux fur. I love this tunic button down for layering, it was a great find and is 40% off now! I’m wearing a small.
Hope all my American readers have a fantastic Turkey Day! I’m very thankful for all of you who visit my little blog, it truly means a lot!
Last week I headed to happy hour with my girlfriends and wore this cute and comfy little sweatshirt dress. I love the jeweled front, this dress would be perfect for a casual Thanksgiving. This large wristlet picked up the burgundy color from the jewels so I grabbed it and was ready to go!
Thanks for stopping by!
You will notice a new background in the pictures for this post, we moved! We’ve pretty much settled into our new place and I’m loving our new neighborhood.
Saturday night we headed to see a band I really like called Lake Street Dive. I pulled out my winter shorts to pair with tights and then added a blazer to stay warm.
Happy Hump Day!
This week and next are going to be a little crazy for me, we are moving! Thursday the packers come, and Friday we are on our way! We aren’t moving far from where we are now, but are heading to a wonderful neighborhood in Brooklyn called Cobble Hill. Our new place is right across from the family butcher shop, and the street has everything we could possibly need a few steps away, so I am very excited! When you live in the city accessibility to everything is top priority – Starbucks across the street – check.
So anyway, I might not be back to blogging until later next week, but looking forward to settling in and getting back to more regular posting.
Last week I headed to my Chi Omega Alumnae board meeting – we’ve been having beautiful weather lately and I’m taking advantage of it by wearing heels instead of boots. Plenty of time in the coming months for those!
I put together the grey sweater with the teal pants, and was going to go with a grey shoe, but decided to get a little crazy and add mustard instead : ) I like the combo! I’m not sure I loved this bag with the outfit, but I have a limited number of bags that are practical for walking around Manhattan and this was the best I could do.
Hope everyone has a great week, thank you for stopping by!

Can’t believe it is Wednesday already, where has the week gone!
Friday night we headed out to the opening night of the Carnegie Hall Pops. Their show was based on the music of The Beatles and was fantastic! I love these Sole Society mid-heels and am showing them here dressed, and then below dressed down. They are so comfy, versatile, and stylish.

Last night we headed out for dinner in the West Village with some friends, and I wore these with jeans and this great woven sweatshirt. I love the dressy-casual mix it provides.
We are headed out of town tomorrow morning through Sunday for our friends’ baby’s baptism in Guadalajara – can’t wait to see them all! Hope you all have a great weekend and I will be back next week!
Wore this for work and a sorority meeting Wednesday – unfortunately it was raining out so my feet were a bit wet! Oh well, fashion over function : )
So excited for this evening, we are headed to our first show of the season for the Carnegie Hall Pops series – tonight it is music of The Beatles!
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, Happy Friday!
Monday night I headed to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon for a party and meet and greet with my favorite author, Sophie Kinsella! She writes the Shopaholic series that I’ve been loving since college.
Sophie was so gracious, taking time with every person there, and I got a signed copy of her new book in the series, Shopaholic to the Stars. I’m only through the beginning, but it is fabulous!
I wore my striped, sort of 60’s mod sweater dress, leggings, and burgundy booties to add a little color. I topped with my trusty quilted leather jacket, which is still going strong after 3 years!
Thanks for stopping by!
There’s nothing I love more for dinner in fall than a delicious pot roast. And no easier way to make one than in the slow cooker!
I threw this together in about 5 minutes yesterday and we had an amazing Sunday dinner 6 hours later!
3 pound chuck roast (or any beef roast, I’m sure pork would be delicious too!)
4-5 carrots cut in chunks (or use half a p0und of baby carrots)
1 large yellow onion, sliced
4-5 parsnips, peeled and cut in chunks (I get a bag at Trader Joe’s)
2 gala apples, chopped
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 TBSP crushed garlic
Seasonello Herbal Salt (love this stuff, if you don’t have just use dried herbs like rosemary and thyme with salt and pepper)
Sea salt and pepper
In the bottom of Crockpot put onion, parsnips, apples, and carrots and sprinkle with herbal salt
Season chuck roast on both sides with salt and pepper and put on top of veggies
Take crushed garlic and spread on side up of roast
Then layer applesauce on top of that
Pour over beef broth
Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 6-7
Season to taste as needed
Headed out for drinks with my high school friends’, Mario and Elena, last night in my cute new mini dress. This dress is so easy to wear and dress up or dress down. Very comfortable too. I’m taking advantage of this warm weather to do fall looks with bare legs – soon it will be time for tights!
I paired this look with these booties that were a birthday present I picked out on our visit to London in August. Love them!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week, thanks for stopping by!
